Dimitris Mylonopoulos was born in Amaliada in 1961. He studied at the University – Democritus Thrace, Panteion University of Athens, Harokopion University, Economics Athens University of Athens – acquiring a Law School degree, Bachelor of Administration degree in Communication-Media and Culture Bachelor of International and European Studies MSc in Administrative Law, postgraduate diploma in Applied Geography and Spatial Management, postgraduate diploma in European Studies and postgraduate diploma in Promoting Mental Health and a PhD in Administrative Law. He also has postgraduate specialization in maritime science from the Naval Academy (Department Officers Coast Guard) and postgraduate specialization in the teaching and assessment by the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education. He served as an officer in the Coast Guard, eighteen more years in executive positions Ministry of Merchant Marine and Port Authority of the country dealing with merchant issues and tourism shipping. Among other things, he was harbor master in Souda (port of geostrategic and geopolitical importance), Commander Special Forces Central Limenacheiou Piraeus (management of special situations eg terrorism in the tourist ship “City of Poros”, rescuing passengers of the cruise ship “Jupiter”) , a representative of the Port Authority Coordinating Body for Narcotics of the Ministry of Public Order, which operated in parallel as a national center within the European Union (Europol), overseer of around cadet Reefer OS the Naval Academy. Postgraduate studies in the US in the security sector in particular ports and tourist ports. In the last twenty years he has been teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, law courses in tertiary higher education – University (University of Peloponnese, Ioannina, Patras, Western Greece and Greek University) Technology (TEI Epirus, Patras and Piraeus), Army (Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy) and Police (Greek Police Officers School). He has also taught at the National School of Public Administration and Local Government / Department for Economic and Tourism Development, the Training Institute for Public Employees (IN.EP.) and the School of Guides Athinon. He’s an author of books and scientific articles in international journals with legal, shipping and tourism content. Suggestions have been presented in international conferences in Europe, the USA and Asia. He participated in Greek and international scientific journals. He was, in his school years, a sprinter (50m and 100 m.). Today he is a long distance runner. He combines tourism with sports (sports tourism), taking part in international competitions.
